How to Get to San Pancho



To reach San Pancho, Nayarit, there are several options depending on your starting point and travel preferences. Below is a general guide to help you get to San Pancho from some common locations:

From Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR)



San Pancho is located 42 km (26 miles) north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport, approximately 50 to 60 minutes by car.

🚗 By Road
Upon exiting the airport, take Federal Highway 200 (Mexico 200) heading toward Tepic.
Follow this scenic coastal road until kilometer 118, where you’ll see the sign for San Francisco (San Pancho).

🚗 Rental car: Available at the airport. A great choice if you'd like to explore the area.
🚕 Authorized Taxi or private shuttle (inside the airport)

- Located just outside the terminal.
- This is the most comfortable and secure option, but also the most expensive.
💰 Approximate cost: Taxi $1,400 –´Shuttle $2,800 MXN

🚕 Regular Taxi (outside the airport)
- Cross the pedestrian bridge in front of the terminal exit.
- On the other side of the main avenue, you can find regular taxis.
- Be sure to agree on the fare before your trip.
💰 Approximate cost: $800 – $1,000 MXN


🚗 Uber
- You’ll need to have the app installed.
- Just like with regular taxis, you must cross the pedestrian bridge and request your ride from there.
- It’s a good idea to message the driver to agree on the exact pickup location.

🚌 Suburban Bus (Compostela line)

- The most budget-friendly option.
- Exit the airport, cross the pedestrian bridge, and walk to the bus stop.
- Take a bus from the “Compostela” line with a sign that includes San Pancho.
- The ride takes approximately 1.5 hours due to multiple stops.
💰 Approximate cost: $70 MXN per person
🛻 Once you arrive in San Pancho, you’ll need to take a local taxi to Villas Paradise.
💰 Additional taxi cost: ~$100 MXN (2-3 persons)

🚘 By Car from Nearby Cities



San Pancho is located at kilometer 118 of Federal Highway 200 Tepic – Puerto Vallarta, at the turnoff for San Francisco (San Pancho). Below you’ll find general driving directions from nearby cities, but we recommend using navigation apps like Google Maps or Waze for real-time guidance.

🚗 From Guadalajara (approximately 2.5 hours)


- Depart Guadalajara via Av. Vallarta or Periférico Poniente, following signs for Tepic / Nogales.

- Merge onto the Guadalajara – Tepic Toll Road (México 15D).

- Continue along the highway, passing through the following toll booths:

   1. El Arenal Toll Booth – $205 MXN
   2. Plan de Barrancas Toll Booth – $306 MXN
   3. Amado Nervo (Easytrip) Toll Booth – $205 MXN
   4. La Peñita Toll Booth – $171 MXN

- After passing the La Peñita toll booth, continue 14 more kilometers on the toll road.

- Take the exit for “El Monteón / Puerto Vallarta libre”.

- Turn left to merge onto Federal Highway 200 heading south.

- Continue until kilometer 118, where you'll see the sign for San Francisco (San Pancho).

- Turn right and follow the road into town.

🚗 From Tepic (approximately 2 hours)


- Depart from the southern part of Tepic, heading toward Federal Highway 200 southbound to Puerto Vallarta.

- Drive south, passing through the towns of:

  - Compostela
  - Las Varas
  - La Peñita de Jaltemba
  - Lo de Marcos

- At kilometer 118, take the right turnoff to San Francisco (San Pancho).

- You do not need to take the toll road from Tepic, as this free highway route is direct and scenic.

By Bus



San Pancho does not have a bus terminal, so if you're planning to travel by bus, you’ll need to look for routes that arrive at one of the nearby towns. Below are the most common options depending on your city of origin:

📍 La Peñita de Jaltemba, Nayarit
Located 25 km south of San Pancho.

This is the best option if you're coming from Tepic or Guadalajara, as it’s the first major bus stop in the direction of San Pancho.

🕒 Approximately 20 minutes by taxi to San Pancho.

💰 Approximate cost: $600 MXP

📍 Sayulita, Nayarit
Just 5 km north of San Pancho.

🕒 Only 5 minutes by taxi.
💰 Approximate cost: $300 MXP


📍 Bucerías, Nayarit
Located 24 km north of San Pancho.

🕒 Around 40 minutes by taxi.
💰 Approximate cost: $600 MXP


📍 Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Located 44 km north of San Pancho.
